ASSEMBLY FORMATS AND RFQ INPUTS
Organize the interface, wiring and installation requirements for your assembly. Include mating part numbers, material requirements and critical dimensions so fit and supply options can be reviewed against drawings and samples.
Specify the retracted length, working extension, straight tails, connectors and pinout, including whether the cable moves repeatedly in service. Performance and validation requirements are project-specific.
Specify cable diameter, exit direction, clearance and fixing method, including the panel opening or enclosure interface. Review mechanical support and sealing separately; an overmolded appearance does not establish waterproof performance.
Define both interfaces, length, wiring and the power or data use. List any required protocol, data rate, power and validation records separately rather than specifying only a USB cable.
Specify the clip style, insulation coverage, length, polarity and identification, with the intended circuit and inspection requirements. Electrical ratings require separate confirmation.

A cable assembly RFQ needs more than a cable length. Define both ends, the circuits between them and the installation conditions so the sample can be checked against the same requirements as production.
List End A and End B connector part numbers, contact positions and mating counterparts. Include a cavity-to-cavity wiring table with the viewing direction. If part numbers are unavailable, send clear mating-face photos and measurable interface dimensions; mark identification as open until reviewed.
State finished length, tolerance and measurement points. Include conductor size, core count, jacket requirements, exit direction and any branches. Show where the cable bends, is supported or enters equipment. A photo without a scale does not define the finished dimensions.
Specify continuity, short-circuit checks and any additional electrical acceptance criteria. Where shielding is needed, define the shield termination at each end. If the assembly is exposed to water or repeated movement, include those conditions for review instead of assuming they are covered by an ordinary continuity test.
Provide sample quantities and production quantity tiers. Agree the drawing revision, identification labels, packaging and required inspection records. Separate checks on each assembly from sampled validation. Record approved changes before applying them to production.
Send the drawing, wiring table or sample photos for review. Materials, test scope and final configuration are agreed for the project.
